Goldmine Magazine: ‘Quadrophenia’ ballet will tour the UK next year
The Who’s Quadrophenia has had many iterations. These include the band’s 1973 studio album, tours that were focused on the album by the band in 1973-74, 1996-97 and 2012, the 1979 feature film that was directed by Franc Roddam, the 1979 soundtrack album for the film, a 2009 UK tour of a stage adaptation of it and the 2015 album Classic Quadrophenia and the live performances tied to that album. Next year will bring a new production called Pete Townshend’s Quadrophenia, a Mod Ballet that will be performed in the U.K. cities of Plymouth, Edinburgh, Southampton, London and Salford. The longest run of that tour will take place at Sadler’s Wells in Townshend’s hometown of London.
